Hello,

I need help to get rid of this annoying message "Windows-Delayed Write
Failed" Windows was unable to save all the data for the file.... What does
this mean and how can I get rid of it??

Help please. TIA.

What event ID is it giving you in the system event log? Typically these
are timeout issues. I would also check for event 9, 11 and 15 in the
system event log as these are indicators of a hardware issue.

Check all the cables to the drives and run a chkdsk on the drive to make
sure its clean.

All the event IDs are 26 or 50, what do they mean?? And how can I fix
them?? Can I rub FDISK to fix them?? TIA

Howdy!

Delayed Write is a message from a drive that has Write Cache Enabled.
Check your device properties and turn off Write cache. We have seen this
message on most of our Zip drives.

BTW, it comes back occassionally on the Zip drives.

It will also happen if you go into...

My Computer...
Properties...
Advanced...
Performance...
Adjust Performance for System Cache

(this may be xp only)

Write caching does not work properly for all disks and is completely
unsafe, it blows my mind that MS leaves it enabled.

What is even more insiduous is that if you enable this, you may not be
able to change it back, since disk writes may not work at all! I had
to change the setting, reboot 8 times, and let chkdsk repair a lot of
damaged files that resulted from enabling this 'feature'.

You mean more so than all the services On by default? All the "I
assume I'm on a LAN and not the Internet"? All the other un-wise
defaults? :-)
