Since installing XP Professional I've had problems. When I am on a game site
or some catalog site and I try to play a game or go to a certain item , it
will start to download the page and then everything closes and I'm back to my
desktop. Gets pretty frustating. When I had ME I had no problems with any
of the sites that I now can't go to. I can reach some by going to control
panel and typing in the url there.
Any help or insite would be appreciated

That does sound frustrating. Can you reach any of the pages you were using by
typing ALT-Tab? My current page often "goes away" and I can reach it with
this key combination. Hope this helps.

I've had good luck fixing strange problems in IE just by making sure I've
downloaded all the available patches from windowsupdate (not necessarily
including SP2, if you're not so inclined). Download and install those,
reboot your machine, run WU again, and install any remaining patches.

HTH.

First eliminate any spyware.
What You Should Know About Spyware
http://www.microsoft.com/athome/security/spyware/devioussoftware.mspx

CAUTION!!!!! Before you try to remove spyware using any of these programs ,
download a copy of LSPFIX from any of the following sites:
http://www.cexx.org/lspfix.htm
http://www.spychecker.com/program/winsockxpfix.html
(if your OS is Win2k or XP) The process of removing certain malware may kill
your internet connection. If this should occur, this program, LSPFIX, will
enable you to regain your connection.

Note that AdAware and SpyBot S & D will each catch some things the other
won't. Also, each needs to be updated with the program's update function
before every use, even when just downloaded. There's also a lot more to do
than just those two programs. CWShredder is also available here:
