i just got a new hp computer with vista on it (installed on a 300gig sata
hard drive).
To get more space, i instaled my old ide 200 gig hard drive as a slave (and
everything was fine) but now, i want to instal xp on the ide drive so i can
change from vista to xp by booting on a hard drive or an other

now that i managed to instal xp on the ide drive, there is a "bootmgr
missing" message appering when i try to boot from the ide drive (the one with
xp)

i'm kind of lost now...i though my plan was so simple.
Any sugestion are welcome.

sorry if my english was lame, i'm not used to english.

This is not the right forum for your question, but I can give you
a quick response. When you install XP after Vista is already
installed on another partition, it often destroys the boot information
that Vista needs. Boot from your Vista DVD, select the 'startup' repair
option. For more on this, see

You should also know that every time you boot into XP, it destroys
Vista's system restore files. The workarounds are not simple:
