NEED HELP INSTALLING MY AUDIO

i just currently upgraded to vista ultimate. and my speakers stopped working.
It says that no audio output device is installed. I checked the the audio
driver to update it but it said that it was the latest edition and that
everything was fine. can someone please help, greatly thankful.

By default, Windows installs a few audio codecs even if you have no sound
card.
Have a look in device manager to see if your sound card is actually listed
there...
and if the drivers are in-fact installed.
It's of course important that there are , in fact, Vista drivers for your
sound card
