What is the exact text of the error message? How did you install the
printer? Did you follow HP's setup guide? No one can help you if you
don't provide any information except to say (as you did above) "it's
broken".

Justa little more on the problem would be appreciated but in general....
leave the printer disconnected from the PC.
From Add/Remove in the Control Panel, uninstall your HP printer. Go into
Printers & Faxes and from the toolbar, File, Server Properties, ensure all
drivers for the HP unit are removed.
