ok, i've just installed windows xp on a brand new
computer and naturaly i need to get new drivers. i have
them all no problem, but for some reason windows cannot
recognise my graphics card (geforce2 mx 400). to try and
fix this i went to nvidia's website and got the newest
windows xp drivers. the program tol me it had installed
the drivers automatically but it hadn't. to check the
problem i ran DXDIAG.exe and the message i recieved when
testing for direct 3d was:

The system is using the generic video driver. Please
install video driver provided by the hardware
manufacturer.

Direct3D functionality not available. You should verify
that the driver is a final version from the hardware
manufacturer.

but as you can see i have already installed the newest
drivers. can anyone help me?
