Well, the other day i bought a magazine that told me 75 tips to "cleaning up
my computer". Well i tried them all and now my computer has gone completely
wrong! I cant install programs (such as shockwave, Media Player) i have loads
of useless temp files hanging all over my comp, i have just insane ammounts
of problems!

Now, this is not my computer, it is my mum's and she isn't uh... "computer
literate" so im hoping somebody could help me out with this because if she
finds out i screwed up her computer im a dead man ^_^"

Also i would like to have just reboot the comp with the Windows XP Home
Edition CD that everybody keeps telling me to use... but i dont have that CD
for some odd reason, It said on the box i should have it but i didn't. I
would try the 7 floppy disc (or is it 9?) reboot thing but, the store did not
provide me with a floppy disc drive, they said they are "far too out of date"

Please help me
Thanks in advance
Michael K Joyner.

Without the winxp cd, or a hidden recovery partition your screwed.
Take it to a shop
PS who is that isnt "computer literate" :)
You could try a system restore first, may work

The Windows XP Home CD may be labelled as something else like Restore CD, or
Operating System.

Often computers come with software preinstalled, such as windows. There
will be a backup usually of the system when it was purchased but frist
you should ave made a recovery disk from the software that was
preinstalled using a program often included allready. If you dont have
any thing like this you should allready have a disk. Ask your parents
if they have any additional resorces for the computer. And ask where
they bought it from, ring them and ask how you can restore your
computer.
