Try Aida32,

Or,
http://www.belarc.com/free_download.html
and post info back here :)

Thanks Shep. Maybe a PCI dump of from the modem would be better?
AIDA32 didn't tell me much apart from it being a generic modem, but
that's a generic drive I downloaded from Rockwell.

Thanks. I actually found this site by accident yesterday. Very
useful. Just got to try the drivers now and see if one of them works.
As it's a BestData, Aztech, A Packard Bell brand, etc.. Not really
clear which one, but it's a good starting point.

Brand doesn't matter, the chipset does, although some may support
extra features... if your modem has voice capabilities you need a
driver with that support, but IIRC, you could use a driver with that
support on a modem without that feature.

You can probably use the generic Rockwell/Conexant drivers, do a
Google search for these files (per OS):

HCFu_WinXP.zip (USB)
HCFp_WinXP.zip
HCFp_Win2k.zip
HCFp_WinME.zip
HCFp_Win9x.zip
