I know Microsoft isn't releasing Java in Windows, nor any
programs. However, I know about downloading the Sun Java,
but what if I need to download MS Java. I found many
places where I can still download msjavx86.exe. Does this
make it illegal? and can I download this to get the MS
Java?

Isn't that continueing and distributing the MSJVM?

Sam,

We (Microsoft) are not distributing the Microsoft Java VM.

We are still allowed to provide support for an installed Microsoft Java VM
under the terns of the latest agreement between Sun Microsystems and
Microsoft. This allows to provide support and patches for an installed
Microsoft Java VM until Sept. 30th 2004 see
http://www.microsoft.com/mscorp/java/

If you download a file that claims to be a Microsoft Java VM from any other
source except Microsoft you do so entirely at your own risk and we can make
no statement or guarantee about what the package you may download actually
contains.
