Need help for a beginner

I want to set up a VPN connection between my home PC and work PC. Both are
on a network and behind a firewall. Can anyone point to a tutorial that
covers this scenario for a beginner?

For a PPTP VPN (the default), you will need to forward TCP Port 1723
to the private IP address of the computer you want to act as server..
Your firewall manual will discuss how to do this...
