Which folder is it in, and if you look at the 'properties' for the file,
who claims to have authored it?
What OS/etc. are you running, and is the file loaded at startup? I can
find no reference to this file under WinXP (or on the web), so my first
feeling is (like you) that it's suspicious.
I had a friend ask me what it was , they told me the name of it , and asked me
to find out what it was , I had never heard of it at all. I searched anti virus
websites and spyware sites , and found nothing. I thought maybe someone here
might be able to tell what it was - The person who asked me was a newbie , so
who knows what it was Unfortunatly , they didnt tell me anything about their pc
, so thats all I know
My buddy just called with the same bug. Running XP home and Norton Sys
Works pegs it as a unfixable trojan horse. Will not let him delete the
file. C\windows\system32\vid32cntl.exe I had him update Norton and
run a complete virus scan. Found 2 fixed 0 so far and he had to go. He
will call me later. What is this. Looked on nortons site and got
nothing.
