The trackpoint is driving me crazy. It flies wildly around the screen
at the slightest touch. I used to be able to keep the computer very
still and use the ps2 mouse but now that doesn't even work anymore.
After researching for several hours I think the best solution is to
disable the trackpoint entirely and simply use the ps2 mouse. The
instructions I read (see link at the bottom) say to disable the
trackpoint in the bios. I updated my bios to ITET55WW (11/30/99) and
hit F1 while restarting the laptop. "Easy Setup" pops up. I click
"config" like the instructions I've read say but there's no button for
"Keyboard/Mouse". I looked for similarly named options in easy setup
but couldn't find any. What do I do?
By the way, I also downloaded a "thinkpad configuration" tool (or
something named like that) and clicked on "trackpoint" and then
clicked "disable". I rebooted but still the darn trackpoint flies
around at the slighest touch. I'm starting to wonder if my laptop is
really antiquated or something. I figured updating the BIOS would
help out but it hasn't. I really could use some help. Thanks in
advance,
Kevin
By the way, here were the instructions I was reading if it helps
any...
