need help bad!!

Ok I pulled off my heat sink to clean it out, and after I put it back
on my pc does not do anything. The power supply comes on and all the
lights, the hard drives spin up and the fans all come on. but I get
no screen, no beeps and no drive activity( other than the whirr of the
drive motor). Could I have damaged the cpu when I put the heat sink
back on. will a dead cpu do this. I have tried removing everything,
and chaged the battery, tried a different video card and swapped
memory. Any ideas

AMD Athlon XP 1900
512M(2-256) pc2100
ATI 8500 AGP video
Shuttle AK32VN MoBo
40G Maxtor drive
