Need help accessing windows xp files from windows 2000

My computer came with windows xp and one day it wouldn't
boot up. I went and bought windows 2000 and used a
different hard drive in order to preserve my information
on the hard drive with windows xp. When i try to access my
folder it says that access is denied. can anyone help? I
have alot of precious information that I don't want to
loose, so please help. oh, and my email address is

If you right-click on the drive in my computer and click on properties do
you see a tab named security? If so, click on this tab and add everyone
with full control permissions for this drive. You should then be able to
access the files on this drive.
