It's been a couple years since I've built a PC so I need some
suggestions. I've got a budget of $600 for everything except for the
monitor, keyboard and mouse. And I'd like a DVD burner, but a CD burner
will do. So what do you suggest for an Intel system? I'm not a gamer
so I don't need any great graphics card, but would like 512MB of ram.
Maybe I should ask what MOBO you would suggest for a Intel based system
since I feel that is the most important part of a system.

TIA

This company is in the UK,
http://tinyurl.com/t7n8
Use their configurator to setup up a hypothetical system as they use
good stuff and then convert to dollars,

To get an idea and then research the US prices which are quite a bit
cheaper.

That board is a mega bang/buck deal.

Mega buck? It was $103.99 at newegg with free shipping.. He said he wanted a
good Mobo and what would you save on a cheap one, maybe $20?

It is, indeed: It killed my P4 2,4C. Now I have a P4P800 "Rev.2.0"!

Ok, so if I go with the mobo, I have to make sure I have get a rev 2
board eh? In the past I always built systems around Abit boards. Can
anyone tell me what the comparable Abit board is and how it compares to
the ASUS mobo?

Thanks,

Dae
