I can get the game to run by using compatibility mode, but it runs in slow motion, any ideas? Have patch version 3.5 installed,
Ti4200, 1GB RAM, Celeron 2.0, DX9, with latest hardware drivers.

Hi David,

Perhaps this process tweak will help increase your framerates. :-)

Method 1: Use Task manager to change the Need 4 Speed
exe to High priority, when you right click on the process.

Method 2: Use a .bat file:
- Open notepad and type the following:
start /high need4speed.exe (replace need4speed with the actual filename)
- Save the file in your Need 4 Speed folder as need4speed.bat
- Make a shortcut to need4speed.bat on your desktop.

Will give that a shot. I know it isn't specifically a problem with low framerate due to too much stuff running, my other games
including GTA Vice City, Viper Racing, and C&C Renegade work just fine.
Thanks for the reply.

My Pleasure David, hope that works for you! :-)

Cheers,
Jimmy.

Tried your suggestion, no effect at all. Any other ideas? Have been doing Google searches to find others with the problem, nothing
so far.

Hi David,

Here's a couple of ideas:
1. Downgrade to 512 MB RAM to see if 1 GB is slowing down N4S
2. Check in Control Panel/Administrative Tools/Services to ensure that
Windows Management Instrumentation is set to Automatic & Started.
