I don't know what started it but now I have to always answer the "sign in
and give me your password box when XP starts. Does anybody know how to turn
that off so the computer will boot to windows with out stopping and waiting
for a password?

Click Start, select Run and enter the following:

control userpasswords2

Click OK and a different view of User Accounts will be displayed. On
the Users tab make sure that "Users must enter a user name and password
to use this computer" is not checked. When you click Apply you will be
prompted for a user id and password to automatically log on with.
Enter your ID and password there.
