need Copy of Windows XP

My computer came with Windows XP installed on it. Due to
Vires that I cannot get rid of We need to reformat the
harddrive and start over. Since the computer came with
XP installed I need to get a hard copy to reinstall on
the computer when we reformat. Where can I get this
disk? The MS web site is of no help for the subject.

Contact the support department of the manufacturer of
your computer and request a CD. Microsoft does not
offer support for preinstalled, OEM versions of Windows XP.

I have the same problem and the manufacturer is no help.
Fujitsu delivered my P Series laptop with an Image on a
hidden partition that consequently got corrupted and now
I have no recourse. Fujitsu will not provide me with a
CD even though I have asked several times.

I can probably recover the Image eventually, but I want
to install a larger HD and the image does me no good on
the old drive since they didn't have the foresight to
break it up into small enough files that I can copy it to
CD. I can burn it to DVD but then the version of Drive
Image I have won't recognize it!!!

Sheesh!

If the manufacturer of your laptop refuses to honor the warranty
and/or provide the support for which he has contracted, contact your
local attorney general's consumer protection division for assistance.
