Ah, yes - I should have made that clear. Sorry.

I actually went to buy a pot of conductive silver goo this afternoon, so
that my week 32 XP2800+ will very shortly (I hope) become an MP.
Only problem was that Maplins could not lay their hands on the item that
they should have had one of. (Could have bought a pen but I prefer goo +
very fine brush.) Have to wait 'til Tuesday now, probably.

Sounds like your maplin is as bad as mine (warrington).

I asked for the slimline -> ide converter and he said they have 3 in stock,
but they couldnt find them on the shelves..
That's all he told me.. So when I asked about who would find them he said
that they dont really look for missing parts. I asked when new parts would
arrive and he told me that they dont need to order any new while 3 are in
stock..

After about 30 or 40 seconds I think he twigged and he said (well, I guess I
should do something about it)
heh

Mind you it always makes for a more pleasant visit when people screw
things up cheerfully, and they are friendly at Cheltenham. :-)

Wouldn't matter - a search engine that goes nowhere, pages on pages of
broken image links ... <G>

Oh, I wasn't referring to his web store. I just meant that the mobile
bartons are unlocked so an 'unlocked' processor isn't as much of a 'rarity'
as one might think.

Ah, Cheltenham, there's a word I haven't heard in years. I spent my
childhood in Chedworth before emigrating with my parents to New Zealand in
1973.

Chedworth, hmmm sorry ... can't put my finger on it and don't have map
handy. Shall look it up later.I live in the Forest and generally only
visit Cheltenham for Maplins and perhaps a gig at the Town Hall
(appalling acoustics).

Some friends of mine from Glos emigrated to NZ at the end of last year -
he has settled in really well - he's so laid-back. No problems at all.
He had a job arranged beforehand and now has his WOF license amongst
other things.
And he gave me his Minolta Desk Laser before he went! :-)

Cheers

That was nice of him.

NZ is a good place to live. A few minor draw-backs but I wouldn't want to
live anywhere else.
