I need a link to a recent, thorough, yet compact guide about setting up and
mounting a virtual machine XP and Vista- on a Vista Ultimate PC with 4 G
memory and VPC 2007..

I prefer VMware Workstation on Windows (VMware Fusion on my Mac) to Virtual
PC but there is plenty of information about both. For VMware I'd start with
their FAQs and they have active user forums. There is a newsgroup for
Virtual PC - microsoft.public.virtualpc - and a quick Google for "Virtual
PC 2007" will bring you links to blogs and other useful sites. The
ever-brilliant Daniel Petri has done this:
