Aloha all,

I can't get my Toshiba Satellite Pro 440CDT to boot
up...after it lists the BIOS (Toshiba Video BIOS V2.80) it
then lists the copyright and initializes the memory.

At that point it says
"NDLDR is missing
Press any key to restart"

According to the support documents this is a fragment
orientated error and I need to get the file "Bcupdate2
utility" from Microsoft.

Can anyone steer me to this file or where I can get it
without paying MS for the pleasure? Or is there a possible
work around.

TIA,

Mahalo,

Pat

You didn't mention the article ID, but it's doubtful it would cost you
anything.

I'm sorry, Dave. I'll get that article ID right now (and
re-review it just incase I got ahead of myself). It's been
while since I did any postings anywhere and on top of that
my neticette file is being corrupted by my beer swilling
deluxe super drine :)

Save,

I gotta thank you...

I went back and actually read - not briefly scanned - that
document and despite getting stuck at the product ID part
which is required for free support but I can't get because
I need to use windows to access it *whew*, I did find a
workaround right underneath the previous solution.

I'm off to make a boot disk, wish me well.
