Hi all,

I need an opinion on the following...I recently (stupid me) went and
converted my Win98 SE partition to NTFS. What I'd like to know is, if I
format and reinstall Win98 (C drive), will it affect my ability to access
W2K which is located on another partition in a multiboot setup. I've copied
the boot.ini file from the C drive to a temp location on a networked
computer which is running win 98. Will this be good enough, if I copy the
boot.ini file from the other computer back to this computer after
reinstalling 98? Will this give me a boot menu at startup again? I still
plan on keeping my W2K partition NTFS. Thanks in advance for any and all
opinions or suggestions.

IT's not obvious, but this article applies to 2000, as mentioned at bottom:
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;155034&Product=win2000.
It contains a link to ARTICLE-ID: 136547 Restoring Windows NT Dual Boot
After Installing Windows 95.

I have two questions for you to consider: What year did Windows 98 come out?
What year is it now? Move on, and don't look back. Microsoft has, and XP and
2003 are the current versions. Win98 is no longer supported. If you insist
on using it, there are third-party utilities, such as Partition Magic, which
will convert your NTFS partition back to FAT 16 / 32. In your defense, I
will admit that I still run old hardware, and move my Vadem Clio, running CE
2.11, especially when I terminal serve across WiFi to my dual Athlon server.
