Need an OE Searchable Database

I've been looking for an application that will save OE (version 6) email
entries into a database so they may be searched. Ideally, the database
would also support from-to, sender and subject sorts too. Haven't found
anything by google search or freeware sites. My purpose for such a program
is to easily find information that is contained in many email messages
without having to scan through them by had.

Any ideas?

An easy way to find information in OE (version 6) email entries and much
other
info you have stored on your PC is to use
Google Desktop Search: Search your own computer.
I use it, and it is fast and easy.

Thanks for the suggestion. I didn't think this would do what I was looking
for but perhaps it is enough.

What's wrong with the OE Find function?

Your are joking, right? Either I don't know how to use it or it isn't worth
as much as the usual M$ junk. I am looking for something to search achieves
of email and need a way to easily find all occurrences of various terms
along with the sender and the date sent (among other data). Surely, others
must have similar needs. Are there no freeware solutions for 98se?

I'm not joking. Perhaps I am not quite understanding your request. The
OE Find function works fine for me. It has several fields to search on
including date fields. When you say archived messages, do you mean
messages that are in an OE mailbox or messages that have been archived
somewhere else?

I just did a search on a message body word and received back 74
occurrences of that word, along with sender, subject, folder, date, etc.
Just make sure you browse to the Local Folders to include all mailboxes.

Well for starters, it doesn't open the emails and mark the search words does
it? Just getting a hundred emails listed is not much help. And having to
click around to just open the email without any clue as to where the
reference is, is a not much help either. Copernic desktop search was
suggested and it does all of this. But it still leaves out some things I
would like to have in a search.

Thanks anyway for trying to help, I appreciate it.

Ditto on Copernic. Based on your other post, this is EXACTLY what
Copernic does. I support 150 people. I really couldn't live without
Copernic. I use it for Outlook Por but it works for OE as well.

I agree. Now that I have it, things are a lot easier - I was going mad
trying to keep up. There are a few things that I wish were different and a
couple of things I wish were added but it does most of the job fine.
