Hello everyone. My company is currently looking to replace our aging
Lanier 5606DC color copier (we use it as a network printer) with
something to output nice color at a reasonable speed. I can't seem to
decide between an inkjet, color laser or maybe even the Xerox Phaser
8400 w/ solid ink technology.
The printer will be used for labels for short-run custom hot sauce
bottles and color marketing materials that would combine both text and
graphics. The graphics would be photos or illustrations, not flat
color graphs and charts.
We are Windows based and almost all of the printed material would be
created in either Adobe Photoshop or Illustrator.
I've heard that with the solid ink technology, it can be scratched off
the page. This would be a concern with Hot Sauce labels if people are
handling them. Can anyone speak to this? Also, I might need to print
25-100 pages at a time, so speed would be somewhat important.
Can anyone make a recommendation or am I asking for the best of all
worlds?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
