Hi Toni,
You bring up some interesting points.
First, at least in this Beta1 version, there have been reports that the 'my
sharedfolder' under Kazaa vaporizes when the Beta dumps Kazaa out;
The freeware version of Kazaa, and many other P2P programs requires you to
sign a EULA which gives them the right to drop a ton of adware etc. on your
machine;
If you should uninstall, by your example, Kazaa, there is no reasonable
expectation, as I have seen, that it will take all of it's luggage with it
on the way out the door;
The amount of viruses, worms, trojans, and whitenoise listed as 'real'
files, be they music of software etc. has risen tremendously over the past
couple of years;
Should you really want a song title that badly, there's always MSN music,
Wal-Mart.com etc. where you can nab a song, virus free, and without worry of
RIAA smacking you with a subpoena and a lawsuit; for $.88-.99US. each.
Personally, I don't think it's worth the risk it presents.
