Buy something based on the "recommended" PC :)

thnx for replying, is that your recommendation at the bottom of your reply? do you have a ball park figure of what that would cost?

This one here >> Link comes to £818.00 with a 22" monitor and Windows 7 Home Premium 64 Bit.

If you felt confident about putting your own machine together from components I could recommend parts and assemble one for less.

I had a look at the Trainz site but couldn't see them offering a driver desktop controller, do you have a link to where that can be purchased?

I have a couple of Train Simulators installed, the original Microsoft one from around a decade ago which is quite good and Railworks 2 which I wasn't very impressed with at all. I've read that the desktop controller for the original Microsoft Train Simulator is very poor btw and the graphics to that game now look very dated.

Of Trainz and it's desktop controller I know nothing. It costs 50 AUD which at current exchange rates is £32.41 which seems fair to me.

I don't know of many reliable tailor-made computer suppliers I always assemble my own - it's really not very difficult - but some folk here like an online supplier named PC Specialist.

I'd guess you could buy a complete system with Windows 7 for around £600.00 but would stress the Novatech machine I've linked to is a fair price for what you get.

I see that is not in american money I have no idea the translation..lol no I do not want to buy one to put together..I am not computer literate at all..wanted to just walk into a store here in Florida and bring it home..my son was the one who found the desk top controller I will have to see if I can find it online again have no idea where he found it..probably on ebay..he is quite the computer shopper..lolthnx for your help though..

Ah - American. That puts a whole new slant on it, lol You'll definitely get a better deal there than in the UK. Only good US site I know is NewEgg, it may be worth taking a look at what they have to offer.
