Need Advice: Slow computer & Not responding programs

My computer was working fine until I tried to send a
file. Now it is very slow and programs are not
responding. Any advice? using toshiba satellite and
windows xp home.

I have problems with my Seagate Hard disk. Every time I boot Windows is
running DSKCHK.
Almost every time it passes the Check. I ran Seatools full diagnostics and
it passed all tests, that means that hard is not the one who makes problem.
And every time I try to defragment disk it responds: 'Disk Defragmenter has
detected that CHKDSK is scheduled to run on volume G. Please run CHKDSK/f.
Can you help me. Thanks.
