Ok I have had this system running ( A7V8X with a AMD 2200 XP cpu ) for
about 6 months and now all of suddenly I am having a problem with it. The
problem is that it keeps locking up and does so even during the boot or
when I am in the BIOS. Now I think it might be a over-heating problem with
my CPU but I just need to make sure that I am going about this in the right
manner. I would appreciate any opinion anyone might have about this problem
and what might be causing it.

So, what are the temp readings for mb and cpu?
Also, have you added any components lately? May be a weak/failing power
supply. I had a a7v133 that worked fine with old power supply. Upgraded to
a7n8x deluxe and got strange problems, installed heavy duty power supply and
problem went away.

I recently install a tv-tuner card but I removed it and it still locks up.
The last reading from the BIOS that I got was 68*C/158*F and it locked up
in the BIOS.

Man, that is too HOT! You need to check your heatsink fan for proper
installation , if the fan is running at proper rpm.
Just looked at my cpu temp and is 38c/100f. mb temp 18c/64f xp2000
thermaltake volcano 6cu.
Your right thanks for to heads up. I changed out the stock retail fan and
added a another. The retial fan that came stock with this CPU was 60mm fan
going a 4,500RPM. The new one which is a old delta 60mm fan I had for a
while, it runs at around 5,400 RPM. Despite that I decided to order a new
heatsink ( a copper one ) and fan combo for this one designed for OC'ing,
even though I don't OC.
