Jim Goodluck

I have an Epson CX 4600.

Anytime I attempt to scan a 5 x 7 (or smaller) photo, the scanner will
copy the entire bed, rather than just the photo.

I cannot figure out how to adjust the settings so that it only copies
the photo, not the entire scanner bed.

Does anyone know how to adjust this particular scanner. I've tried,
and I can't seem to figure it out.

Help!

Hi Jim...

Don't know your model, but with all of the Epson's I've had,
in Professional mode just click preview. This will indeed do
a quick and dirty scan of the whole bed.

Then use your mouse to draw a mask (marching ants) around the
portion that you want to scan. If it's too small for you to
accurately see what you're doing, then do the best you can,
then click the zoom button. It will re-scan, but fill your
window with masked portion so you may more accurately size
and position your mask.

Then click scan, and it will scan just what you wanted.

Can't resist saying it - Good luck! :)

Take care.
