Need advice about shipping printer, should I remove the toner cartridge?

Remove it or you'll end up with a mess.

And put it in a plastic bag, too. If the toner leaks out, you don't
want to think about what the inside of the shipping carton will look
like.

A toner dump is a pain in the ass to clean and because the toner is
conductive it can permanently damage the printer . put the toner in a
bag and SEAL the bag
