Need a product key code for microsoft office 2003

I bought a toshiba notebook, with installed software, but I cannot find the
product key for the office 2003 software. I received so many ideas of what
to do, I'm confused. Can someone give me the best option to use and obtain
the key code. I talked to Toshiba and they could not help me. It's not on
the bottom of the laptop, I only see the codes for the works software and XP.

You failed to mention if you purchased the notebook new? If so then Toshiba
is the place to go and call them again.
If you purchased it used go back to the person you purchased the laptop
from.

At the beginning you mention "office 2003", later you mention "works
software".
which is it, they are 2 different packages.

Did you buy notebook directly from an authorized seller or second
hand?
If an authorized seller contact them, but if it has been to long, they
may not be able to help.

If second hand, contact the seller.
Otherwise you may need to purchase whatever you need.

Office 2003 may not be a legal installation if you do not have the
Product Key.

If the software is still installed, use BelArc Advisor or Aida32 to show
you both the product code (be sure to use the correct one displayed
since there are usually two codes, one for install and another after the
install to identify the product from that generated code).

If it was a trial version you wouldn't get a key.When the trial expires you
should get link to got to Microsofts site and BUY IT. They will then emai you
a key and send you the certificate of Auth in the mail. Hardly any OEM
consumer laptop is going to just come with a copy of Office 2003 unless you
customize it when you order it froma vendor. A lot of consumerline laptops
like Toshiba , HP, and Sony are coming with trial versions that shutdown
after 30 days and you have to then go to Microsoft and buy it. Sneaky huh
