I have WinXP installed on a single SATA drive. I have a matching SATA
drive and want to transfer WinXP from the single drive to a SATA RAID array
(ABIT IC7). I have driveCopy, DriveImage, Norton Ghost, and Partition Magic
8. I also have another large hard drive to copy the original SATA drive to.
My problem is if I copy the WinXP drive to the new SATA RAID array, won't
WinXP choke because it doesn't have RAID drivers?? Anyone have any ideas??
THANKS!

Install the other large drive on the old IDE controller. Use Drive Copy to
copy your WinXP install to it. Boot to this other hard drive and remove the
partition(s) from the current SATA drive (don't dump this partition until
you know you can boot to the other hard drive so that you have a backup).
Install both SATA drives in the RAID configuration and boot to the other
hard drive. Make sure XP can see the RAID properly. Use Drive Copy to copy
your WinXP install to the RAID setup (I'm assuming the RAID configuration is
done in the BIOS). Boot to the RAID set. If it doesn't work, you still have
a backup on the other hard drive.
