Need a good app killer!

Running XP Pro and am experimenting with transferring VHS to DVD.
Occasionally the software freezes and nothing kills it except forcing a
shutdown. I need THE definitive app killer--does one exist?

I guess that would be EndItAll

<http://www.diamondcs.com.au> see under products, bottom half of page:

Advanced Process Termination
DiamondCS APT offers seven different methods of process
termination - the only thing we know of that can stop all 7
methods is Process Guard!

All the best,

Forgot to add, about OS:

Which operating systems are supported?
Windows 2000, Windows XP, and Windows 2003 are supported.
Unfortunately, the advanced techniques used by APT can not be
used under earlier operating systems such as Windows 95/98, or
NT.

May I suggest a big rock or, to be more sophisticated, a baseballat.
Just hit your PC a couple of times and guarantied: all apps are killed.
(sorry, I'm just in that kind of mood, I guess)

If you want to make it somewhat les permanent, you'd better follow up on
Bjorn's or Bob's advise.

perhaps:

http://www.goblineye.com/ykill.php

YKill is a complete window manager that gives you full of control of
windows and processes in your system. YKill...

* Can Close and Kill applications that stopped responding!
* Can help you manage top-level windows in your system.
* Can show you information about your system.
* Can show you information about running processes.
* Fully supports Windows® 98/Me/2000/XP.

I haven't tried it but have seen favorable comments from others.

Great suggestions, but I can't seem to lift the rock up high enough. Is
there and app that does heavy lifting? :-)

Got Ykill and APT and I'm daring something to freeze so I can try them out.

Thanks, guys.
