I'm working in a company where they combine bar charts with lines and
so I need a secondary x axis to create the chart.

I can do it in excel easily (I am averaging a number for a particular
month/year and machine and then also counting the number of jobs in
that month/year. the average needs to be the bar and the line is the
count.

As I said I can do it in excel but the chart wizard in access is of no
help.

I did, momentarily, insert a activex object (at least I believe it
was) into a form and get a chart object that seemed to have the same
qualities as an excel chart but then, after moving to a different
computer, I lost the reference to the dll and now can't remember what
it was.

I can't find any information on this on the net or any of my books.
Can anyone help me with this?

Thanks so much.

Jo

You can create a chart with the wizard. Then open the report in design view
and double-click the chart control. Select the series you want to change and
select Chart->Chart Type to change it.

Sorry to bring up this old thread but I can't get this to work. Whenever I try to change the graph type of only one column of my datasheet - it automatically applies to the graph type to all of them. I attached a picture below.

I want Avg Rate to be an area graph, UserIDSelect to be a bar graph, and the last two to both be line graphs.

When I go into chart -> chart type and select a graph, I am unable to select the "Apply to Selection" button. I'm unsure of what to do.
