I added security to an existing database. The computer I
used had Access 2002. I can get in and all my usernames
and passwords work fine from the computer I created the
security on. This database is shared on the network. When
I go to a machine that has access 2000 I get the
following error message:
You do not have necessary permissions to use the "path"
object. Have the system administrator or the person who
created this object establish the appropriate permissions
for you.

By "shared" do you mean the tables? I would assume that each user would have
their own copy of the frontend ... if not, they most definitely should have
their own copy. Each user should log onto the database using a shortcut with
the Target value of:

"Path To MSAccess.exe" "Path to the database" /wrkgrp "Path to the workgroup
file"

Sounds like you've managed to properly secure your database ... give
yourself a congrats, 'cause there's lots of folks who don't get this far!!

Thanks so much that was it!!!!!
