Necessary Fonts

I have between 800 and 1,000 fonts on my computer.
Microsoft Works Database or Spreadsheet told me that I
must have under 500 to use them.

I need a list of the necessary fonts.

Impossible to give you that information. Many applications install their
own fonts. You may have applications that installed those additional fonts.
Some are necessary for functions in those applications while others are just
additional fonts.

There are some fonts you pretty well know won't be used by an application,
fonts such as Wingdings but you really need to go through the fonts.
Something else you can do, if there are several different versions of the
same font, you can likely remove the ones that are not standard such as bold
fonts, assuming you won't be using them yourself. However, even if we knew
everything installed on your system, we couldn't tell you which fonts are
necessary for specific applications.
