Hi, Can anyone please help me. I have just tried to install my daughters
phone so that she can transfer pictures. The message it says is: continuing
to install this software may impair or destablize the operation of your
computer now or in the future. it did not pass microsofts logo testing. I
stopped installing but i have a big file on my computer now under NEC and
some of it can't be removed after I took out the disk. Does this mean I will
never be able to connect this phone? I thought NEC were a relliable
recognised company. Thanks for any advice. Tiv

It simply means the software/drivers havent been certified by MS.
You might check NEC site to see if there is any update.
It doesnt mean NEC is unreliable/not to be trusted
Companies, I believe, are supposed to submit their software/drivers to MS to
obtain certification, and pay big bucks for this.
Its more a cautionary msg.
PS deleting a folder, without using the uninstall procedure, can cause
problems

Hey, Tiv,

Have you tried using the phone w/o installing the software? It's
possible that XP comes with combatible software already installed. It
should say in the installation instructions whether you even need to
install the drivers.

In any case, you should be able to install the software without any
great problem.
