Does anyone have problems with this dvd drive on this motherboard?

Whatever i have tried, my burner doesn't burn any DVD-R with nero
(DVD-Video). The logging says that the DMA is off.
In the Device-panel I see on the NVidea NForce 2 Controller current transfer
mode "Ultra DMA 3-Ultra 133" and the Select Transfer mode "Bios default". I
Can't change any of them

Maybe someone recognices this..

maybe re-install the unified drivers...have found that twice so far they
have not installed correctly on the first try

I don't know what OS you are using, but in Win98 you have to go into Device
Manager, highlight your DVD burner, click on Properties and then on the
Settings tab and put a check mark in the DMA box.

Sorry, I'm using Windows XP Prof. SP1

I will try to reinstall the unified drivers

Thanks so far

There may still be a problem with Nero and the SF IDE drivers... so
reinstall the 3.13s without them.

There is little if any noticeable difference in performance between those
and the MS IDE drivers.

I did at one point have DMA probs with this board but with hard drives
not optical, go to device manager and uninstalll the NVIDIA nForce2
ICPE IDE Controll, Reboot and it will find the device again at reset
to the highest available speed for the devices attached to the
channels.

I have this drive and mobo and it works fine, running XP SP1a with
NEC1300A (the 2x model) mobo is latest bios 1007, the NEC has been
solid and no coasters to date after 50+ burns using NERO 6 and other
burn progs. Have tried different media but have settled on COMPUSA
cheapies as they can be read by all drives I use them in.
Good Luck
