All of my tv's in my house are early 90's and cant receive over the air
digital signals. Been thinking, could I use a cheap bare bones computer
with a tv tuner card and run a long cable from the computer to another
room in the house with a monitor to be able to watch digital over the
air tv or for that matter my satelite box or dvd and things? Or is all
this going to basically cost what a new tv will?

Also, how cheap can you build a bare bones computer? It is very
interesting.

Thanks!

Its generally better to get a set top box instead.

Not clear what you mean there. Yes, you can get a card
for the PC that will do digital TV and satellite and watch
those from the PC to the TV, and play DVDs on the PC too.

No, but a set top box will be cheaper.

Pretty cheap. I replaced 4 VCRs with a single
obsolete PC, what used to be the main system.

Where do I find set top boxes?

How did you replace 4 vcr's with a computer?
