Is there a way to run Norton Disk Doctor with the Fix Error Box Checked
without getting the message "The operating system or another process
currently has exclusive access to this drive. Norton Disk Doctor cannot
continue with a repair under these conditions. I assume Windows XP is
what is blocking me from running this. Any suggestions?

FWIW, I personally wouldn't use any Norton products and I certainly wouldn't
use Disk Doctor on an XP box. However, if you want to use their products,
here are tech support links:

You are correct. Windows is preventing disk access to NDD. Norton Disk
Doctor cannot be run on the boot disk of a Windows operating system. NDD
must obtain a "lock" on any disk it checks. That is to say, no other
disk operations can be performed while NDD is working. If permitted,
such operations might cause serious file system errors.

To use this utility on the usual boot disk, one could boot from the CD
if that be available. Alternative 1: if one has multi-boot set up, boot
to the other OS and run the utility from that system. Alternative 2: See
