I have Norton Internet Security installed and keep getting a message that
nda.exe is trying to access the internet through my computer's firewall.
Does anyone know what nde.exe is and what are the repercussions if I allow
or disallow access through the firewall?
Please advice.
Thanks.
-Ollie.

Hi,

I would check, it's a file often found on HP and Compaq machines, but it may
be something else. Do a search on the system for the file, and right click
it, select properties. Check the version tab for information on its origin.

Neither the Symantec nor the HP websites return any hits using their search
tools for your "nda.exe" today.
However, Google has many, including this:

C:\PROGRA~1\HEWLET~1\HPORGA~1\bin\nda.exe

Logfile of HijackThis v1.97.7

Platform: Windows XP SP1 (WinNT 5.01.2600)

I recommend an e-mail to HP support requesting any information.

I believe it is the Norton Download Assistant to help in updates category.
