ND-6550A DVD Drive in a Optiplex GX260

I have a DELL Optiplex GX260 that seems to work pretty decent.
But some idiot has removed the cabling for the DVD/RX drive
(ND-6550A).

I presume there is a power and a data connector. Some pics I have
found seem to show a flat orange cable from the mobo to the drive, but
I am not sure.

Anyone know of a source for the cabling connectors that I might buy
same from? If not, I'll pitch it.

Thanks

Did you have a look in Ebay ? Perhaps that's where you
saw the orange cable.

The cable in the example, looks like Kapton film (polyimide), something that
might be used in a laptop to save space. The weird shape, avoids
the need to "fold" the cable to fit, as might happen with a
ribbon cable as an alternative solution.

There are likely other ways to cable it up, without using the orange
cable.

You can see here, according to the size of the GX260, different
cables can be used. A Kapton film cable is used for one
machine, a ribbon cable for the other. Have a scroll through
this... They seem to have an option for optical drive audio output,
but you can also get audio from the drive using data transmission
digitally. So an audio cable isn't absolutely necessary. I suspect
more modern DVD drives, lack the audio connector. If such a drive
offers anything, it's some sort of digital S'PDIF that isn't documented
anywhere (non-standard levels).

Gee that is for the drive and everything.

Yeh I think so.

This is a good schematic. I saw a similar one, but not as
informative.
Thanks

I saved all the good parts...
