Using W98 , have tried 5 times, cannot download without
error. JSM.

Thank you, I will try it. But first, a little researching on the nch
website stated that the download was only for a pocket pc or something like
that. They do have a page where several kinds of downloads are offered,
including various Windows versions. I took one of those, I haven't had time
to see if it is full-function and what the licensing is. No problem-o.

I'm using Win98_SE and downloaded and installed ( 400 KB )
the NCH Tone Generator from the original link
that Tramp posted ....

The program provides a selectable set
of different output sound waves with
adjustable frequency values ....

[ sine , square , triangle , sawtooth , impulse ]

The program installs in a folder on the C: drive
without an option to install it elsewhere,
but I moved it to another drive post-install
without problems ...

Sometimes when closing the program
using the X close button it produces
an error, but closing with the EXIT button
seems clean ...

I downloaded, installed and tried it, it works in my win98.

Just tried it... opened with big ERROR message, so deleted it.
There is an interesting tone generator on downloads.com . Enter tone
generator in search box and locate SigJenny 2.51MB it is said to be
free. It works although I haven't had it long enough to examine all the
functions. Thanks to all who have commented so far. John M.
