Navigation Button Spacing

I have a Navigation Link-bar (Vert) in the Left-hand shared border. All of
the buttons are stacked very tightly together. Is there a way to insert some
spacing ?? I have tryed moving the curser around in all the ways that I can
think of with no luck.

Not w/o modifying the Theme w/ custom images to add some "whitespace"
