In the navigation bar on the right side of the screen, I
used to be able to click anywhere in the light-gray area
and the screen would move one page either up or down. I
could move more quickly by grabbing the medium-gray bar
and sliding it with my mouse.

Now, clicking in the light-gray bar slides the document
through several pages and I often lose my place,
particularly with longer discussion groups.

Does anyone know how that change occurred, and if there is
any way I can reset the function of the navigation bar
back to its previous specifications?

Thank you,
Michelle

This is a known bug introduced by critical update 824145.
You can click immediately under the slider or drag the slider.
You can use Page Down.
