Using Norton 2003 Internet Security, the file NAVAPSVC.EXE
is killing the system. It slow the system to a crawl.
Deleted Norton and re-installed it several times for improved
Anti Virus condition. It seems to work for a week or so.
Feel like to get ride of Norton.

Anyone have any suggestion of a free Anti Virus program
or know what to do with Norton?

The system:
P4
Window 2000 PS
2 gigahertz
1 MB Memory

Thanks
Wolfe

I could be wrong here, but I believe that NAVAPSVC is Norton Antivirus's
real-time protection agent. If it's not working then you could be at risk.

When not on the Internet, I disable NAVAPSVC.EXE to get
the system to a reasonable speed.
NAVAPSVC.EXE is Norton Anti-Virus checking program.
It is also visible within Windows Task Manager.
My question was: Can NAVAPSVC.EXE be tweak or somehow
be less aggressive.
Or any suggestion for a better Anti-Virus Program,
if possible a freebee.

Thanks for your comments
