Are you running both Norton and Nod32 in the background at the same time??
If so.....pick one (preferably not Norton)....and use just that one. You
probably have a conflict between the two of them.

Why would you run NAV?

No, really, why would you run it?

It is a very bad idea to be running 2 AV Utilities at the same time. If
it were me, I know which one I'd uninstall.

It's a no brainer.... I used NAV from 1995 until last fall when I
switched to NOD32 thanks to the recommendations in this NG.

Very interesting read, thanks for posting the link as I use NOD32 and am
very happy with it's performance.

As I am, having switched from Kaspersky after a newer version
surprisingly slowed my system down.

Surprisingly? I tried KAV trial two years in a row, and could find no way of
tweaking the settings to remove considerable slowdown. I really wanted to
use it too so at the time it was a bit depressing. Then I discovered NOD32
and all was well again. :)
