NAV Live Update question

I have NAV installed (from Norton Systemworks 2002) under Win98_SE.

Every day after booting up, I get a box labeled "Definition Alert", urging
me to run Live Update. When I do, it always tells me my definitions are up
to date.

I have "Automatic Live Update" enabled under Options. So it seems to me I
shouldn't be getting this nag for me to do it manually. Why am I getting
this pop-up box, and how do I turn it off?

Thanks.

I don't know the answer to your question, however I have used Norton many
times, and this is just another one of the many problems its stupid "live
update" program has. Either that or it loses your subsription data.
Reinstalling it is a temporary fix until it happens again a week or so
later. I finally had to give up on Norton and use the freeware Avast
antivirus software. Haven't had a problem with auto updates yet.

If I remember correctly you have to goto the Symantec web site and get a
different version of auto their auto update file, then uninstall your auto
update and install the new version. I had this problem while using NAV '02
on 98 SE, I've since upgraded to "System Works 2003" and haven't had a
problem.
If it is also bringing up a net log on box, you may also want to go into
your options and turn off "automatically log on" switch it to "never log
on", this will eliminate some other problems that arise using NAV et all.

Good luck,

Eric G.

Not sure why you get that pop up, I know I don't. What I do know is, is that
there are def updates daily, Monday through Friday that are called
Intelligent Updates. To get these you have to go to there site and download
them manually. With the Live Update you only get updates 2 or 3 times a week
unless there is something big happening.
