I currently have 4 W2K DC's on my network, and no NT4
DC's. I need to switch the mode to native mode for AD, to
prepare for Exchange 2000 cutover (hey, better late than
never). I know this action is a one way ticket, but two
things:
1) Does switching the mode from mixed to native require
rebooting the DC's or the network?
2) Our other office has a domain that is NT. If we run
W2K native mode and they are still on NT4, will that cause
problems? Our exchange servers both still run 5.5, and
aside from file access across the network, the email
connectivity is the only real-time thing I can see going
from us to them, so I don't think that us going to native
mode should cause any havoc, but I wanted to see if anyone
else was in this situation, now or in the past. Thanks!
