Hello

This might be a little bit silly question, please don't
laugh at me ;-)

I have several NT4 member servers (NOT domaincontrollers)
and I have a windows 2000 active dir. now I desperately
want to change this domain to native mode to enable group
nesting possibilities. the thing is that some people say
that you cannot use your NT4 server anymore than, even
though they are no DC's and I doubt that. I think you can
use NT4 member servers.

Now I haven't got a solid test environment so please can
someone help me out?

thanks, Alex

I did my test in a test environment and there were no
issues with NT 4.0 member servers when switching from
mixed mode to native mode. It changed quietly and
peacefully.

Changing your domain to Native mode means that you can't have any more NT4
domain controllers. If you still need an NT4 domain controller than you must
leave your domain in mixed mode. You can have NT4 member servers in a
Windows 2000 domain that is in native mode.
